Empowering Adolescents through Sexual reproductive health &rights

Sexual reproductive health

Some of the challenges faced by adolescents include early pregnancy and parenthood, difficulties accessing contraception and safe abortion, and high rate of HIV and sexually transmitted infections. VIEWS works with adolescents and youth to educate them about sexual and reproductive health to ensure their physical and emotional wellbeing. The adolescents are provided knowledge and information about the biological aspects of their bodies so that they remain free from unwanted pregnancy, unsafe abortion, STIs (including HIV/AIDS), and all forms of sexual violence and coercion.

Menstrual hygiene management

Women and girls in low-income settings have low awareness on hygienic practices and lack culturally appropriate materials for menstrual hygiene management (MHM) practices. Menstruation and associated activities are surrounded by silence, shame and social taboos that are further manifested in social practices that restrict mobility, freedom and access to normal activities. VIEWS educate women and adolescent girls on Menstrual Hygiene Management i.e. using clean menstrual management practices. It educates them about their right to access clean menstrual management products and maintain personal hygiene and facilities to dispose the used products.
